EKG TECHNICIAN COURSE

EKG Technician Program is Accredited by the National Healthcareer Association.

Our comprehensive 60-hour ECG / EKG Technician Certification Program provides students with the critical skills required to function as ECG / EKG Technicians and prepares them to take the National Electrocardiograph Technician Certification exam. The program consists of both didactic and clinical instruction. Topics include anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, laboratory assisting, electrocardiography and overview of echocardiography. The hands-on training labs introduce the student to the function and proper use of the EKG machine, 12-lead placement and interpretation, Holter Monitoring, stress testing and other clinical practices. After completion of the course students will be able to quickly and easily recognize significant cardiac events.

Tuition: $800

Tuition includes books and supplies necessary for course. Tuition does not include fees for national certification exam.

Public Safety Academy has a limited number of Health Education Grants available for the EKG Class starting January 10, 2011. Grants are for $100 each and they are specifically for the EKG Techncian Course.

After the grant, your tuition is only $700 for the 60 hour course that is nationally recognized. Register today to take advantage of the grants.

At time of registration you need to pay $250 to reserve your seat in the class. You will receive a grant application via email after you register.
