ER Technician Course
The ER Technician Course is a total of 88 hours and will prepare the Patient Care Technician, Certified Nursing Assistant, or EMT to work in the Hospital Emergency Department. The course is divided into four seperate courses to allow the student flexibility in scheduling classes.
The student can choose to take one class or the entire course. Once all four courses are successfully completed the student will be awarded the ER Technician Course completion certificate.
Introduction to EKG - This is a 32 hour introductory course in EKG interpretation and 12 lead EKG use. This is an excellent first course for those wanting to pursue Paramedic certification. $250
Introduction to IV/IM Therapy - A 16 hour course in IV therapy and IM injections. Course topics include setting up IV administration sets, IV venipuncture, intramuscular injections, and subcutaneous injections. $150
Advanced Airway - Includes 24 hours of instruction that covers intubation, and advanced airway techniques including chest decompression and cricothyrotomy. $200
ER Skills - Basic ER Technician skills are introduced in this 16 hour course. Topics include urinary catheter, nasogastric tubes, ortho/splinting, chest tubes and pleuravac set up. Other topics as needed. $150
